OFFICIAL SNOWcast
DMV Weather
Posted 1/31/2019 @ 4:30pm EST

A small piece of energy is moving out of the Midwest and will cross over the DMV region Friday morning into early afternoon, almost like an Alberta Clipper-style storm without truly being one, and will likely bring a very light coating of measurable snow to the region. But with air and surface temps well below-freezing, any and all flakes that fall should stick to all surfaces...and that will, in turn, bring the potential for roads to become very slippery in a hurry, especially during the AM commute to school and work. Expect possible delays/cancellations to school system schedules across the DMV region Friday morning as well as to private businesses & the Federal Government.
TIMING
Light snow is expected to move into the region in the early-to-mid morning hours, possibly starting in the 5-9am time frame. Whatever snow does fall should be over by approximately 3pm or so.
